Spinline

A one-button stunt ride. A small spark-bot rolls through a city at night on a caterpillar tread, along a line of neon track. Hold to speed up, let go to slow down, and hold in the air to backflip.

There's a new track every day, and everyone rides the same one.

iPhone and Android versions are on the way

How it plays

  1. Hold

Hold anywhere on the screen and the bot speeds up. Speed is the whole trick: too slow and you fall short of the next piece, too fast and you fly past the landing. On a long flight, hold all the way along the deck and let go as you take off.

  2. Let go

Let go and the bot eases off, so you can line up what comes next. Some loops are open at the top: come in at the right speed and the bot flies across the gap and lands on the other side.

  3. Flip

In the air, hold to backflip; the longer you hold, the faster you spin. When the bottom edge of the tread glows cyan, let go and you'll land clean. If it glows gold, you're level enough for a Perfect: extra points and a little more speed.

The daily track

Every day there's a new track, about 1.2 km long with a finish line, and it's the same for every player. Each day is set in one of the city's eight districts, in its own sky and neon, and the district picks the stretches of track it likes best. The first third is for everyone: hold on the track, let go as you take off, and you'll land. After that come kickers, steep lips and tighter loops.

  • Neon SquareMidnight under the billboards. Hills and kickers.
  • Lamp RowLate evening on a long, even street. Double jumps.
  • Sign AlleyMidnight between rooftops, high and low. Ledges, steep lips and stairs.
  • Crane YardLate evening in the crane yard. Kickers and double kickers.
  • Canal DocksThe small hours by the canal. Waves and twin jumps.
  • Tower HeightsMidnight among the tallest towers. Climbs and ledges.
  • Stair StreetJust before dawn, rooftops stepping down. Staircases.
  • Long BridgeThe small hours, high on the bridge. Waves and ledges.

Every day

One track, one finish line

Ride to the finish and the result card shows your score, how far you got, your flips and the stretches of track you rode. Your best of the day stays on the title screen, and playing again the next day keeps your streak going.

The finale

Once a day, near the end, a curved nose drops away under the bot. Let go, and it front-flips by itself onto a floating piece of loop. A front flip scores more than a backflip.

Every crash, explained

Crash, and a short slow-motion replay shows what happened and says why, in plain words: “Too slow for the loop: hold to speed up.” Tap to skip it, and the next press starts again.

Ghost races

Race a see-through copy of your best run of the day. Or share your best as a short code: a friend who enters it races your run on the same track. No accounts and no chat.

A few more things

One button does everything: a finger on the screen, the mouse or the space bar. Land flips one after another for a combo and a burst of speed.

The soundtrack is upbeat synthwave, made entirely in code, and it builds as you go faster. Nothing plays until you start, and the speaker on the title screen mutes it.

You don't need an account, there are no ads and nothing to buy. The game only sends anonymous play stats if you say yes, and you can switch them off any time. Once it's loaded, it needs no connection.
